• First of all the guided installation of this plugin simply doesn’t work. You enter all the data and then you’re presented with a “shop” that half the data you just entered is missing.

Secondly there’s a broken reference to a JS file that you have to manually fix or upgrade to get rid of.

Third, you basically HAVE to upgrade to get any control over the design & layout but even then the types of items that should be easy configuration options are instead hard coded (like hover text).

Fourth, there’s a weird bug with outbound links when using this as an “affiliate shop” where the links are not behaving the same way simple href links work on other pages.

    Hi Lievense,

Thank you for your feedback, and I apologize for the trouble you encountered in using the plugin. I would ask that you please get in touch with our support team who would be happy to help with any issues you are facing.

The reference to the non-existent JS file is related to the feature that lets you use your own stylesheets and/or JS files. There should be no reference to it if a stylesheet or JS file was correctly uploaded. If you’re having an issue with this feature, please contact us via email or our website (https://www.etoilewebdesign.com/) as this is a premium feature, for which discussion is not allowed in these forums.

I’ve re-tested the initial walk-through and it seems to be working correctly in the current version of the plugin. I’m thinking maybe there was a conflict with another plugin or something was not entered or chosen correctly during the walk-through. I’d be happy to show you how to re-initialize this and help with anything that might not be clear in the walk-through.

I’m sorry that you felt there wasn’t enough control over the design in the free version. Many of the styling options are indeed premium only. Like many developers we need to offer a premium version to be able to keep offering the free version and to be able to keep offering the quick support for the free version. That being said, we tried to make it as easy as possible for you to customize the look even without the advanced features. Each catalog has its own custom CSS field, which you can use to modify the look of any element in the catalog. And our support team can offer you CSS suggestions for anything you need help with.

As for the outbound product links, sometimes you just need to disable the “Maintain Filtering” option. That feature allows all your filtering selections to remain in tact when you move to and from the product page and the main catalog page. However, sometimes certain affiliate URLs are designed in a way that conflicts with the URL parameters in place to make the “maintain filtering” feature work. If that’s the case, just disabling that option will remove any conflicts and allow all your external product links to work.

If you have any questions, or need any help with the plugin, please let me know.

    Thank you!
