Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » Buggy and tries to do too many things

    • The clearing all caches option only works within the first 3 minutes of reinstalling the plugin, afterwards it throws error 500.
    • HTML minification breaks scripts
    • Cloudflare integration is the only thing that made me choose this plugin over WP Super Cache
    • Caching plugins should not be minifying, monitoring nor preloading anything. As I said, this plugin tries to do too many things at once. When you have to have plugins for your plugin, then you know you’re overdoing it.

I’m sorry to hear you’re not happy with the plugin. I would like to help you out with the issues you have.

If you get a Error 500 when clearing all caches, your server might have a missing/disabled setting or module. Please check the error logs for any details.

HTML minification breaking scripts probably means the scripts are not formatted correctly or a semicolon is missing. You can check for invalid HTML using the W3 validator.

W3 Total Cache started off as a Caching service, but now is a website optimization plugin. We’re trying to get the most out of your server setup. If you need 3 plugins to do the same, you’d probably get a lot of compatibility issues.
