Hi, i’ve just noticed that when embedding a youtube short, embed privacy doesn’t show the thumbnail.
Must be an issue with the function that creates the background-image inline css, because the correct thumbnail is downloaded and saved in uploads/embed-privacy/thumbnails.

    To recreate:
    – Enable thumbnail previews in embed privacy
    – In Block editor: Paste the url of a yt short like youtube.com/shorts/Po098TRdOn4 (add https:// and www)
    – see grey embed-placeholder (no preview thumb in background)

    Addition:
I’ve noticed that if I use an Advanced Custom Fields Block with an “oembed field”, the embed-privacy thumbnail preview works.

For this type of embedding the resulting youtube player shows the “Shorts” Logo, while embedding via just pasting in the block editor will create a normal web player with the “YouTube” logo.

    Might be a useful hint.

    Hi @jhtjards,

you’re correct, YouTube Shorts are not yet supported, thank you for notice. Since it was just adding another URL format to a list, I’ve added it to the current development version:

    https://github.com/epiphyt/embed-privacy/commit/91fe3bb6e712f4b8e637c9e3c35508aabe0e11b4

It will be part of the next version. If you want to, you can use the link above to manually edit the file to get support for it early.

    Best regards,
    Matthias
