I don’t think you really need it but let me explain in more detail.
I have some image (icon.png with dimensions of 512×512) in my media library. When I go to Appearance->Customize theme editor opens. Then under Global settings->Logo & Favicon under site icon section I click Change file. I can now upload new or select already uploaded image. If I upload/select image with exact 512×512 resolution, then I am not offered option to skip crop like I am if I upload lover resolution image. My image gets “auto-cropped”. That means I now have in my media library two exactly the same images except one is named cropped-icon.png and selected as site icon.
Hi,
You can either upload a picture slightly larger than 512 x 512 in order to trigger the crop interface. Or you can use your desktop program to crop your image to 512 x 512 before you upload as site icon.
On a Mac, you can use the preview app.
On a PC, you can use the paint program.
Thanks!

Hi,
I already have an image of that dimensions.
The problem is: When I upload image of 512×512 a new image is automatically created (with it’s original name original-name.jpg
) -all good. When that image is selected then it is autocropped (that means I get the second image with name cropped-original-name.jpg). So now I have two the same images with different names. The image should not get cropped or at least I should get the interface to skip that operation.
Edit: This is the problem of wordpress and not this theme. Sorry for bugging you.
