    Hi guys,

    I’ve been using the plugin for a while and it’s been great, so thanks for your efforts.

    I’m running Woocommerce Subscriptions on my store with recurring subscriptions set to ‘never expire’ and monthly billing cycle.

    Until now, I’ve been using a 3 month Trial Period for the new users. So upon sign up, new users get 3 months trial, so the Cart results in 0.00 for the initial payment. But the Stripe modal popup still comes up, the payment is still processed and card details taken, which is exactly what I’m after.

    Now, I would like to give my users a coupon with 100% off for the first 3 month instead, so they get first 3 months free.
    So if they input this coupon code at the checkout, the coupon gives 100% off discount for the first 3 recurring months of the subscription.

    So in this case, the cart again results in 0.00 for the initial payment.

    The issue is that when it comes to the checkout, Stripe checkout doesn’t come up as it usually does with the trial period. The 0.00 payment is not being taken and instead, I get the following message:

    This order’s status is “Pending payment”—it cannot be paid for. Please contact us if you need assistance.

    I have tried this with 99% discount coupon and this works fine as expected, so it only seems to be the 100% coupon that results in 0.00 payment ( only for the recurring coupon discounts though as the 0.00 trial payment works fine )

    Could this be a bug? Is there any way I could make this work?

    Have you reached out through your WooCommerce.com account to open a ticket for the team who supports the Subscriptions extension.

    Also, unless you have a strong desire to use the Stripe Modal Checkout, I would disable this option and let your customers use the main checkout fields.

    I’m going to mark this as “resolved” since this issue seems to stem from integration with the paid Subscriptions extension and going via the official support channel is best – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
