Hello!
“Furthermore, in settings, there is no option to set the date to today on merging.”
There should be setting called:
Merging > Merge date with revision
– No, keep original post’s date
– Yes, after revision acceptance, replace date
Is this option not visible for you?
Hi – I think I found more info on where the bug is coming from! It’s pretty complicated.
We do have the “Yes, after revision acceptance, replace date.” selected, but I figured out that the issue is not coming from this option.
Usually, when you create a revision post, it sets the revision post publish date to “Immediately”. (see screenshot)
However, I noticed that on some of the revision post, the publish date is set to a random date. It’s not the same date as the revision post was created. It’s a date that the revision post was edited. (see screenshot)
This lead me to this discovery. I noticed that the Publish date on revision posts changes randomly while the revision post is being edited. I had it change on me when I clicked Publish, then Cancel, then Save Draft. I was not able to replicate it when I tried recording a screencast.
Maybe some JS call is causing a collision, or maybe auto-save is causing the publish date to alter.
I found that clicking on Trash triggers auto-save and changes the Publish date.

As mentioned earlier, something else is also causing the Publish date to change on random intervals for all our editors. I cannot seem to pinpoint the issue.
Hi!
I am not able to replicate this behaviour.
Could you contact us and send the whole system info file from settings -> tools.
It would be even better if you could give us an access to your /wp-admin.
Please contact us on service@themastercut.co.
I am looking forward for your message.
Hi, I am not able to provide admin access. We’ll work on our end to determine the cause and will keep you updated.
