Can you please provide more info?
Is the user who is unable to log out “white listed”?

What exactly do you see when you try to log out? (any error messages?)

For example, I’m as the admin of my site.
If the whitelist module were activated.
I can’t logout after logged in. I always get redirected back to the main dashboard.

Another example: a customer logged in. (I use woocoomerce)
    He can’t log out too.

Doesn’t have anything to do with any IP white listed.

    No error message.

    Hi,
I have been unable to reproduce this with my initial tests so far.

There are two features which have the word “whitelist” in them.

Just to confirm – are you referring to the whitelist feature in the following menu?

WP Security >> Brute Force >> Login Whitelist

Or are you referring to the following?

WP Security >> Login Lockdown >> Login Lockdown IP Whitelist Settings

Have you tried doing a theme/plugin conflict test?
Maybe another plugin or your theme is contributing to this behaviour. If you find which it is let me know.

    I haven’t.

    My theme: Virtue Theme Premium.

It has conflict with Virtue Theme.

    Hi,
That’s interesting that your theme is somehow conflicting with the “Whitelist” feature.
The only thing which changes when you enable the whitelist feature is some directives are added to your .htaccess file which will stop any IP addresses from accessing your login page which are not in the whitelist.
I don’t understand why this would be an issue from the perspective of your theme.

Have you tried adding your IP address to the whitelist settings?
Then test again and try logging out when the whitelist feature is enabled.

If the above doesn’t work I recommend asking the theme developer about this strange behaviour.

    I have made some test.

    It’s not the theme.

    So what happened is…
If activated the module and I insert in the IP list that isn’t my IP adress. I can’t log out. But if it’s mine, I can log out.

Ok thanks for the explanation. That makes sense because when you log out wordpress will try and redirect you to the login page but if you have the white list feature active AND your IP address is not white-listed then you won’t have permission to access the login page.

In my opinion this is not a bug and I will close this issue. If you have another issue just create a new thread.

Does this means, I can’t white list other user?

For example, last time a developer needs to check his plugin and needs to “play” with the login.

I want to whitelist his IP, so he won’t be lockout.

    Hi @ekajuan,

Does this means, I can’t white list other user?

You can add as many IP addresses to the whitelist field as needed. As per the following instructions.

Enter one or more IP addresses or IP ranges you wish to include in your whitelist. Only the addresses specified here will have access to the WordPress login page.

    Kind regards
