Hi there, thanks for reporting this. I’ll try to look into it as soon as I am able, but I do remember that being one of the more difficult bits.
Ok, doesn’t appear to have been too difficult a fix… (famous last words). Keep an eye out for version 2.4.5 and see if that resolves the issue.
@helgatheviking thank you for this amazing plugin, which should have been in the core functionality for ages!
but i second @leorospo, in the version 2.4.6, the issue still exists when selecting or switching a term in quick edit. the terms are not getting selected after save.
an update would be a great, because we use your plugin in a large number of websites and this is definitely affecting them.
@ajasra Can you confirm this happens with only RB4T enabled and no other plugins + default theme.
Can you share some info about how your taxonomy is registered? Screenshots and code. When I pushed the update it seemed to resolve the issue for me so I will need help reproducing your setup.
@helgatheviking thanks for the prompt response.
my local dev env is running wp ver 6.0, with RB4T ver 2.4.4 and it works as expected. historically speaking there has been no problem. but my staging env, has wp 6.1.1 and RB4T ver 2.4.6.
the posttypes and taxonomies are registered using the metabox.io plugin

is that a free plugin I’ll be able to test with? Can you send a screenshot of what your post type and taxonomy set up is like?
I confirm, the plugin does not show and not save the category, which is set in the Quick Edit mode. (version 2.4.6)

Hmm…. looks like there is some sort of divergence between the code served from .org and the code I have locally. I will have to see if I can figure out what it is and I loath the WordPress SVN repo.
It’s not clear to me either. The changelog announced version 2.5.0, but no update was released.
2.5.0 was only ever in beta… trying to work on somebody else’s issue. π
I’m using some automations at GitHub to send the updates to WordPress.org and that’s going to make it tricky to debug… but I’ll try to get a zip file up on GitHub over the weekend.
just did a manual deployment to try to ensure that what’s served from .org is the same as what i have locally. Can you all let me know if it’s still a problem? If so, some screenshots of your post type/tax setups would help me try to replicate.
Downloaded the plugin from WordPress and for tags and categories on posts, I am seeing the quick edit data saved correctly:

If anyone is still seeing this issue with v2.4.7 please provide steps to reproduce.
@helgatheviking sorry for not updating you earlier. but this issue seems to have been fixed.
you are awesome as always !
Glad to hear it! If you’re so inclined… could you leave a review?
