Bug on YARPP widget when using "Display using a custom template file"

  • I found an annoying bug on yarpp widget.

    To recreate:

    1. add the widget to your sidebar.
    2. add some title.
    3. save.

If you go to the site, you will see the related post with the widget title.

    Now, To recreate the BUG:

    1. go back to the widget area.
    2. edit the YARPP widget.
    3. select the “Display using a custom template file”.
    4. save.

If you go to the site, you will will not see the widget title.

When using “Display using a custom template file”, it does not save the widget title.

Oh, that’s because the title field is not used by custom templates. The title field, in fact, should become disabled when you switch to using a custom template. Disabled fields are not sent by the browser to the server, so that’s why it’s not saving.

Maybe in the next version I’ll hide the title field instead? Maybe that’s less confusing?
