Support » Plugin: All In One WP Security & Firewall » Bug in FileSystem permissions UI

  • Hi,

I’ve noticed something weird with the filesystem permissions UI. If you have several rows that need their permissions fixed and click the top one, the bottom one is what actually gets changed. The success notification reflects the bottom one.

    1. root directory … Set Recommended Permissions
    2. wp-includes/ … Set Recommended Permissions
    3. .htaccess … Set Recommended Permissions
    4. wp-admin/index.php … Set Recommended Permissions
    5. wp-admin/js/ … No Action Required

Click Set Recommended Permissions for root directory and what gets changed is wp-admin/index.php. Click it again and next to be fixed is .htaccess, and so on.

Hi Vinny, that is very strange. What are your sites specs?

Is this the first time you run into this issue? If it is, do you know if you updated anything in your site prior to this happening?

    Kind regards

It’s actually something I’ve been noticing for quite a while now but only just got around to reporting it as it’s not that serious.

I’m on FF 69, and the site I reported this about is running on a CentOS. After the report I noticed that root directory permissions couldn’t be changed because it belongs to a different user (a quirk of the setup and I can’t change that due to company policy). That may have had something to do with it.

I’ll try to replicate it locally later today and will follow up.
