# BUG – Footer text (HTML enabled)

* Hi there,
* When I add text to the footer text area with a link to the website in the message,
there is a very strange behaviour which I have noticed before, but forgot to
advise.
* If you place an href link in the text there is a full list of \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
added on each save.
* Maybe you can look into that when you have a moment. This happened prior to 3.6
upgrade, so it definitely isn’t the upgrade causing the small bug.

* Hi Ciaran,
I couldn’t reproduce the `\\\\` bug, but there was a problem with
the footer texts not rendering HTML code. This is now fixed in v2.3.6, check
if it works now.
