Under bonestock WordPress 5.2.3, PHP 7.3.10, stock theme TwentySeventeen, and WooCommerce 3.7.0 as the only active plugin.

I am unable to change the email address of the Recipients under the Email tab for email tamplates such as New Order, Cancelled Order, Failed Order, etc. I type in the new email address, click save, and see the notice indicating the changes are saved. However upon refreshing the page, the old email address is still there.

The only way to change this email is to change the email address of the admin under Settings > General of WordPress core. It should not be so difficult to change this email.

  • Does the problem seem limited to changing the recipients, or do other changes on those email settings fail to save as well?

There’s a problem people keep running into with 3.7 where the New Order email won’t save its changes because of a problem handling the 🙌 emoji in the Additional Content field, so it’d be worth trying removing that. But that wouldn’t explain your other emails failing.

I have a few other troubleshooting ideas on my article here, but a lot of them don’t match your symptoms.

    Hello @fissionblue
As @mailmechanic suggested, make sure you do not have emoji in your title.

What is the title of your emails?
