[resolved] Bug - Admin Options (4 posts)

I am trying out the free version of this plugin on a news site where one category has payable content, using WordPress 3.9.1. and Membership Ver The following bug is however noted (using FireFox Ver 30.0) on the Admin side at Options > Content Protection:

Editing of the content for "Protected content message" and "No access message" keeps disappearing when switching between "Visual" and "Text" modes.

At "Protected content message" the entire content box disappears while the editing tools at the top remains fixed in "Text" mode after selecting "Visual". Refreshing the page, returns the content in "Text" mode, however when switching back to "Visual", the content box disappears with the editing tools staying in "Text" mode.

At the "No access message", it is almost the same, but at least the content box remains intact (the box doesn't disappear) although the editing tools remains fixed in "Text" mode.

It seems like the code used for "message editing", used by various plugins, is incompatible with WordPress 3.9.x. This is noted with several of the older plugins where quick-fix attempts were made to update the plugin to be compatible with the latest version of WordPress. Although the plugins itself works perfectly fine with the latest version of WordPress, there is an issue with the older code used for messages editing from the admin panel of the plugin.

  2. Hi @Hans,

Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

I have tested it on my test site using WordPress 3.9.1, Membership plugin Version and Windows FireFox browser Version 30 but i couldn't reproduce the issue and it worked fine.

Which Operating System are you using?

Can you check the javascript console for errors?

In Chrome go to "View -> Developer -> Javascript Console" and in Firefox you can go to "Tools -> Web Developer -> Console”

Let me know what errors if any you are getting!

You can just try on your development site deactivating all other plugins and using default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen to know which theme / plugin is conflicting if any.

    Kind Regards,

    My sincere apologies

I should have tested for plugin conflicts. In this case the conflict was with Olevmedia-shortcodes - https://wordpress.org/plugins/olevmedia-shortcodes/

Perhaps WPMU Dev will consider developing a replacement for the Olevmedia shortcode generator as it is quite a handy handy tool.

    Kindest regards

  4. Hi @Hans,

Awesome, great to see you found the conflict.

There are various other WordPress shortcode generator plugins in the market which you can use instead of Olevmedia shortcodes plugin to resolve the conflict.

Here are the following some of the WordPress shortcode generator plugins:
