  • Installed buddypress on our org’s site, the ‘home’ page is our Org’s wordpress blog. Right now, members of the site can post their own topics on this page. what setting do I adjust/change that only allows comments on this page, not new post by members/contributors, etc?

  • Please clarify.
    – What theme are you using?
    – Did you make the Activity Page your “home page”?
    – Or is it the Forum Page because “members of the site can post their own topics on this page.”
    – Or is it the blog page where new posts by members/contributors can be seen?

Thank you for responding. We are using BuddyPress Default 1.5.3 theme.

This thems has various pages and tabs across the top and our WP blog is located on the ‘home’page. When users, given the role of ‘member’, login they are able to post to this same ‘home’ page. This is what we don’t want. We want to limit posts on this ‘home’ page only to administrators. is this possble? If so, what settings do I alter? here is the site:

Incidently, do you know how to change the header color to something other than blue?

Thanks again for responding. I’m very new to wordpress/buddypress and still learning the ropes.

Just to clarify, Administrator per WordPress roles or BuddyPress’ Group Administrator which is totally different?

Sure. Just make the color change in your bp-default child theme‘s stylesheet and that’s it. In fact, you can even add an image background for the header area by going to dashboard menu Appearance > Header and uploading the background image there.
