BuddyPress Group Avatar Options Not Showing up Under Admin

    Hi. I am using BuddyPress 1.9.2 with bbPress. Uploading avatars for users and for groups was working fine until today. Now the Avatar option is not even showing under the Admin tab of the group, and is not offered when creating a new group.

    Anyone have an idea of how to fix this, please?

    Also, under Settings>BuddyPress I only have three tabs: Components, Pages, Settings, while some on the forums have mentioned having five tabs in this panel – including one called Avatar.

    Lastly, it seemed like when I first set up this site, I loaded my profile avatar without using Gravitar. Why has this gone away and is there some other option people have for uploading an avatar?

    Hi. Solved this. Somehow the Settings>BuddyPress>Settings>Profile Settings>Avatar Uploads>”Allow registered members to upload avatars” box had become unchecked (perhaps during a BuddyPress update?) If the box is checked, the Upload/Change Avatar option will appear under your group Admin tab on the front end of the site. Also with it enabled, registered members can upload their avatars with or without using Gravatar. Hope this is helpful to others.
