    Hi

I am using buddypress and it uses GIF that is calling bbp-ajax [bbp_media_gif] to the backend.

then wordfence keeps on prompting the popup asking me to add to the allowlisted.
it works but i have many different groups with different URLs and new groups are created now and then.
so it’s not feasible to keep this way.

is there a way to keep this parameter open to specific URI (not URL) or wildcard..
    /\group/\/
    /group/*

I tried above methods, doesnt work for me..

I am ok whichever way, can you help me to guide me how to enable this across the site other than using learning mode?

    Thank you

Hello @futureyoon and thanks for reaching out to us!

Currently, our allowlist doesn’t have a function set up for the wildcard param. We do have this on our roadmap to add in the future though.

You might be able to try Learning Mode to resolve this issue. From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Now perform the actions that were causing issues. This will help Wordfence learn that these actions are normal and it will allow them in the future. After you have finished performing the actions, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting. Now test to see if these actions work correctly.

https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/ is an amazing resource for learning more about the WAF and learning mode.

Let me know how it goes!

    Thanks again!

OK. Well, that can’t really solve the issue because someone needs to run this thing whenever a new groups is created…

till this feature is released, there seems no other elegant way to overcome this I believe.

    Thank you for the update.
