BuddyPress emails being sent as text and not HTML

Hi,

When Paid Memberships Pro is activated, it causes emails to go out as text and not HTML. This is in particular for BuddyPress emails, such as the activation and welcome email. This is regardless of if an email plugin is used. We have also tried the “Only Filter PMPro Emails?” option, but we are still seeing the issue. When we deactivate the plugin, the emails start sending as HTML.

How can this behaviour be changed so all BuddyPress emails are sent out as HTML?

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply. We’ve tried the code and it works to some extent.

It would seem it changes some of the line breaks in Wordfence emails. We’ve noticed the Wordfence emails have gone from HTML to Plain Text format. They display OK, but the format change would probably explain why some line breaks are removed. This may be impacting other emails, but we are not aware of any more yet.

We’ve recently added in a filter to strip out ‘untrusted’ data from Paid Memberships Pro emails (this should not affect other emails but it may be worth a shot).

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for looking into this. We’ve conducted a few tests and while it seems to fix the issues with the Wordfence emails, the BuddyPress emails revert back to being sent in text.
