I am using the paid “Buddy Boss” theme, with a child theme. I want subsections of the site to have a different title and tagline. But when I use the theme preview method to set the title and tagline in my second child theme, it replaces them in the first child theme as well.

Do you have any experience with Buddy Boss, or with this issue? Any suggestions? Direct database editing?!?

  • No, I don’t have any experience with that Theme.

First suggestion is to work your way through all the suggested “Workarounds” listed on the Theme Options tab of the Plugin’s settings page. It sounds like you have tried Method #1. So, I would suggest you try Method #2. If that fails, then try the “Select Theme for Everything” advanced setting.

If none of those work, I would suggest contacting the Support folks where you bought the Theme.

Lastly, if all else fails, you should consider a WordPress Network, with each Theme having its own Site. A little bit of work on Menus and you should be able to make the two Sites look like one integrated website. In that situation, you would not need my plugin at all.
