 * I have installed BruteProtect on a temporary url on rackspace(porting old WP 
   site to rackspace)
 * Will there be a problem with the setup after the main domain’s DNS is pointed
   to rackspace. Or can I setup the API key for the plugin on the temporary url 
   itself?

 * Go ahead an install it on the temporary URL.
 * When you change URLs, you can click the ‘Remove API Key’ button on the BruteProtect
   configuration page, and then you’ll be prompted to get a new API key.
