    This is driving me nuts.

    In the live installation I cannot access *.php files in the browser from wp-content/ and further. If I try doing it the site shows the 404 template page of the current template. For example:

    http://example.org/info.php -> OK
    http://example.org/wp-includes/info.php -> OK
    http://example.org/wp-content/info.php -> 404 template
    http://example.org/wp-content/plugins/myplugin/info.php -> 404 template

    The server is an Unix server with PHP 5.2.8 and Apache.

    I've WP Super Cache installed but it seems not being a problem since I deactivated it and the issue persists.

    .htaccess rules seems fine, they are the wp default rules:

    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

    Any idea?

    And as always happens, just after I post a question, I found the solution.

    wp-content was, for I dont remeber the reason, writable, and it caused this stuff. chmodded back to 755 and the problem is gone.
