Support » Plugin: Secure Copy Content Protection and Content Locking » Browser menu options do not work

  • Only basic functions work using hot keys. None of the options work from any browser. So, waste of time & money. After installing the plugin, try to do all options from browser menu, everything works like printing, save the page, developer tools like inspect element, view page source. So what is the point of having this plugin. Waste of time and money.

    Dear @careerbuggy,

    Thank you for your review.

I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment, but, I would like to mention that it is TECHNICALLY impossible to implement 100% protection on WordPress websites as the website data are located in the browser of the end-user(his/her local storage).
We have done our best to handle it as much as possible.

Anyway, our Customer Care team will always be happy to help you.
We welcome further discussion. If you’d like, please contact us via this form to determine how we can help you.

By the way, as we can see you have rated 1 for all these category plugins. So most presumably, you don’t quite catch the idea of what can be achieved and what not with these plugins.
So, it is not fair to affect badly to the ratings of all those plugins.

    Thank you.

I know it is pretty hard to control browser menu options but there are some techniques. What ever you have provided in the plugin is very basic options and basic code. For this simple code charging more than $20 per year is also not justifiable. Even simple print option and some copy functions from browser menu is like 3 to 4 lines of code, even this functionality is not working properly with your plugin. I kind of tied 4 to 5 plugins and all are same. You guys need to charge this hefty amount if you are implementing browser menu side as that code is challenging for most of the wordpress developers.

Overall I didn’t see much help with these plugins as all plugins are just handling keyboard events and couple of mouse events as said this functionality can be handled with very basic javascript and css code and also we can reduce 2 to 3 requests from server side as we no need to load javascript and css files, which will impact on the page rank score. By adding this simple javascript and css code will also eliminate these additional requests from browser.

I gave this 1 star rating for the price and very basic functionality. In my opinion these type of plugins should be free and opensource to help some of novice developers.

Thank you for your time though.

Also, what ever functionality is there in these types of plugins is no use as all of these events can be accessed from browser menu. For example, Print option, view source option, Inspect element options, File save all these things user can access from browser menu even after implementing these plugins. In this case how we are protecting the content? There is no protection right, by saying you are protecting the content it is kind of misleading the user.

Even after implementing these types of plugins, end users can save the webpage without any hassle, user can copy or print the web page with ease. so there is no content protection.

    Dear @careerbuggy,

    Thank you for your reply.

First of all, all the features you have mentioned are absolutely free for usage and you can easily make use of them with the free version of the plugin.
So, there is no question of paying in this regard.

You can pay, for instance, for the Paypal paywall feature (and dozen of other features), which we consider to be absolutely normal as you are going to make money with this. So, it is fair to pay the Plugin Developer for that features.

Second, again I want to mention that it is TECHNICALLY impossible, and only because of this, all the plugins you rated 1 for couldn’t implement that feature.
As far as we can understand, you are well aware of programming, so you can easily implement this (if you are sure it is possible) and contribute to either our or other Free plugins. We would only be happy about that.

As to the work we have done for the development of the plugin, please note that 10000+ clients are making use of the Free version of the plugin and are satisfied with its functionalities. Also, we are very happy that we have managed to be of use to the community.

So, we consider your opinion to be extremely subjective in this regard. Anyways, you definitely have the right to express your opinion.

Thanks and have a nice day!

After seeing the update of the plugin I tried it again, but this time it is conflicting with the theme my account page. The version 3.2.7 do not have the issue but with the latest version 3.3.1 I am getting a critical error when I click on User name -> My Account, not sure it is conflicting with the theme or wordpress my account page itself.
Because of this I uninstalled it again. And, thank you for your earlier responses.
