For some reason enabling either gzip or my CDN or both appears to wipe out browser caching.
With Gzip and CDN both DISABLED
my repeat view only has 2 request (yay!)
Gzip and Amazon S3 CDN both ACTIVE
my repeat view is needing 25 requests (boo!)
Gzip disabled and Amazon S3 CDN
my repeat view is needing 23 requests (boo!)
Gzip enabled and CDN disabled
my repeat view needing 22 requests (boo!)
I _think_ the gzip problem might be that the web server (HostGator Shared) doesn’t support it, but I’m lost when it comes to the caching and the CDN stuff. I thought that it might be the cookie domain setting which is getting beyond my level of understand of this stuff but that didn’t seem to make any difference.
Any help would be appreciated?
