Broken WYSIWYG Editor

  • Hi,

I’ve got a couple of sites running and one site in particular is having issues running scripts in the backend especially with the editor.

At the moment it’s stuck on HTML view and the code is white on white background, other people using version 2 of WP have reported this problem and their solution was to disable plugins and delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folder then install manually.

This however hasn’t worked for me and I’ve installed the same plugins in my other sites that run the latest WP but they seem to work fine.

    Any ideas???

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi Esmi,

Yes, I have tried deactivating all plugins and found quite a few of them are causing the problem. However when I use the same plugins on a different site that don’t cause the problem which is why I think it’s something else.

I’d like to exhaust all avenues before trying to switch back to an older version of WordPress.

If the sites are on different servers, it could be a server issue.
