I was wondering if someone has come across this same issue and knows how to resolve it.

    The setting:
    – Moved WordPress site from Linux Apache to Windows IIS 7
    – Changed subdomain so both sites could operate simultaneously until moved,
    eg. http://www.domainname.com to www3.domainname.com

What has been done so far:
    – MySQL database duplicated on Windows server and set up accessible.
    – PHP installed on Windows and working, WP site copied.
    – Registrar DNS setting updated and site accessible through www3 subdomain.
    – Searched the MySQL DB * all new domain URLs updated.
    – So the MySQL DB is accessible to WP with all necessary access rights.

    What is happening:
    – The home page is displayed okay, but all links on the home page pull a 404 error, not just the menu.

    – The proper URL is displayed (when you hover over the link and look in the status bar, that link is what it should be)

** It is as though the connection in WP that maps a “virtual URL” to a WP page is broken for all links. **

    Resolved:

    Settings/Permalink

Was: Post name (on the Linux/Apache server)
Set to: Default (on the Windows/IIS 7 server)
