I switched to BLC 2.0. It counted up to about 15,000 links and then stops and says my site has 0 links and 0 broken links. I tried this for about three weeks an then gave up and switched back to the original version.

    Hi @pistoscomputers

Sorry to hear you had this inconvenience with the new version of BLC.

The plugin requires a new API host IP and User Agent to be whitelisted. Could you please verify the new IP is whitelisted in any security plugin, hosting protection firewall or service like Cloudflare (in case you are using any)? The IP is the following:

    165.227.127.103

You can also remove any restriction to the User Agent:

WPMU DEV Broken Link Checker Spider

Please check if whitelisting/allowing the IP and user agent helps to complete the scanning and report the proper number of links.

    Kind regards

    Luis

I am using WordFence and added the IP to the whitelist. The counter gets to about 250,000 links found and then the next time I check, the screen is ready to do a new scan with 0 links found. I click Scan and it starts the count all over again, only it does go for nearly as long. I suspect the high traffic causes some security monitor somewhere to stop the transfer. I wonder why Broken Link Checker doesn’t just store what information it does have and continue where it left off on the next scan. I’m sure I’m not the only one with the problem. Meanwhile, I’ll just switch back to the old version until this issue is fixed.

    Hi @pistoscomputers,

I understand your concern and am extremely sorry about the inconvenience caused.

The new version of BLC is in beta and we are adding more improvements based on user reviews in the upcoming versions.

Wouldn’t you mind please checking with your hosting provider if our IPs or the User-Agent were blocked at the server end or not? Please update us here once you hear back from the hosting support so that we could bring this to the notice of our developers.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John
