Were you upgrading from WPMU or WordPress regular?
Did you update your .htaccess correctly?
I started with WordPress regular installation. Went to WPMU and then back again (my mistake). I believe I should go back to the original .htaacess file or can you give me any other guidance. What should the .htaaccess file say? Now using WordPress 3.0.4. There is also an error with my category menu on the home page, for example http://theluxuryproject.com/wp/category/todays-news/ showing error 404, file not found
THANKS!
Documented! 😀 One of these should be it, depends on if you have Subfolders or Subdomains.

Hi, unfortunately this didn’t work.
For example this URL appears as broken
http://theluxuryproject.com/wp/blog/2011/01/17/worlds-largest-champagne-bottle-has-midas-touch/
This site is in a subfolder /wp from the main root directory
Therefore the htaccess file beings like this
# BEGIN WordPress
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /wp
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
etc etc
This seems correct to me. Is there anything else I can check? THANKS
Well … One problem is that you really can’t do that. WordPress multisite has a lot of issue when you try to run it outside of root like that.
Taking a quick look… http://theluxuryproject.com/wp/?attachment_id=201 loads fine.
Can you get in to the wp-admin and try re-saving permalinks?
OK thanks, I reset permalinks and the content is coming up fine now. Sorry for my ignorance!! One more thing, the images are still not showing through. I checked the settings and my images show up in /home/servername/public_html/wp/wp-content/uploads
I can see them there.
But they don’t show up on the front of the site. Again, are there any other issues since I have gone from WordPress MU back to WordPress standard? Thanks
Viewing the source of the page, all the images link to ‘http://theluxuryproject.com/wp/’ and NOT an image file.
Thanks, I found out that I didn’t have the Get the Image Plugin installed and activated. All working ok now
Must be something that your theme developers set up, as Get The Image is not a required plugin for multisite.
