    Dear Experts,

    Save My Soul – literally.

Been creating this blog with a lot of love. Suddenly all images started appearing Broken. Seems started after upgrading to WP version 4.3

Reason to believe it is a WP upgrade issue –

    A. within standard WP Admin, Media library, clicking on Library to see a list of images. Instead of thumbnails, broken images appear. Clicking View under any Image also shows the Broken image on site page.

    B. But, clicking within WP-Admin-> Media-> Library->EDIT IMAGE, I get to see the image!!!!

So EDIT IMAGE is able to do something Right that other PHP pages are not able to do. What is it ???? Please help advise …..

Removed all images but one – you can navigate to below URL to see

The image is the supposedly Featured image – cf.jpg – appearing broken above the post.

  • Don’t panic 🙂 This is a common bug in the 4.3 version.
Simply upgrade your WP to the newer 4.3.1. version and then everything should perfectly work.

Also, check out this post here, people are already discussing such problem and found a few ways to solve it.
Probably, some of them will help you.

See this post if your issue is actually a 4.3 bug: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/read-this-first-%E2%80%93-wordpress-43-master-list?replies=4&view=all#post-7314897

@couchflyr, please tell us what exactly you tried when you say “Tried all options”

Got it. My issues were – a) Png files were not visible b) jpg images were appearing broken. For problem a) I replaced png files by Jpg files. For b) What I found is that the images if uploading from a redirected URL failing to render in Media Library. For example I stored images in a sundomain and created a redirection to it in server. Under such scenario the media library Php for add/edit image was not finding the image. So now I created two copies – one in so-content/uploads and the other in the redirected URL. Now media library can find my images. So after editing in wo-content/uploads I then manually move the final image to the mapped directory.
To be sure I changed the image file permissions in both directories to 644. Thank you all for your help
