The update also broke Download Manager 2.9.1 with some files not displaying, some only showing shortcode and others showing correctly.

I rolled the plug in back on both of my sites because the error was causing organization issues.
The tabs plug in I use “Word Press Tabs” uses a short code in posts and pages. On both posts and pages, the tabs lost labels and the first tab in each set simply disappeared. It was a very weird error.
With my count down plug in — the short code was displayed and the roll back on your plug in didn’t fix it so I uninstalled it.
@keiramarcos – The new release (2.1.56) should sort out the unexpected shortcode conflicts … please try updating to the current release of NextGEN Gallery as I suspect it will no longer cause the problems you were seeing.
