# bringing back posts?

 * I recently lost my database that held all of my posts etc, However I looked on
   my FTP and it appears that my posts are still there, so how do I go about making
   them visible on my site again?
 * Do I have to retype them all one by one, if thats the case I’m going to be busy
   for days?

 * Do you still have your wordpress database or not? Do you have a backup?
 * If not, then perhaps your host has a backup for you, but if they don’t have one,
   then you won’t get your posts back.

 * All your posts are on the database, they aren’t static files.
 * [Chris Lin was able to get his posts back](http://a.trendyname.org/archives/2005/01/15/explanation-for-this-weeks-adventure/)
   when the same basically happened to him. Hopefully that’ll help.

 * Oh my, memories.
 * PAINFUL MEMORIES. It took me 1-2 days to recover all my posts that I wanted. 
   Not the comments though, that would’ve taken another few days.
