Recent error since WP 4.5.1 update (or 4.5 and I wasn’t looking…)

The tinymce visual editor doesn’t keep content, or allow you to add media. Text works ok, but then switching back to visual loses the content.

I can see the visual editor, but I can’t add media, and if I switch between text and visual editor, the content resets. If I add it in text editor (including media) it works.

The console gives this error message:
wp-tinymce.php?c=1&ver=4310-20160418:12 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘refreshContentEditable’ of undefined

I turned debugging on in wp-tinymce.php, and got this in the console:

TypeError: n.quirks is undefined
…{if(o=r.getRng(),o.item&&(a=o.item(0)),n.quirks.refreshContentEditable(),c=t(r.g…

I’ve swapped the wp-tinymce.php file for a fresh one, but same problem.

Couldn’t tell what plugin was causing it, so deactivated all of them and reactivated. It was Opening Hours. Now looks like this is abandoned…?

@tim, I just tried it on my end with a default 4.5.1 install and my version of the plugin and all works as expected.

Thanks @phil.

I appreciate the effort, but at this point I’d rather just keep it simple and remove the abandoned plugin.

If you set up a fork and supported it ongoing, then I’d use it (not that I’m asking you to) but otherwise, it might just cause more headaches down the line – for both you to keep supporting your fix, and for users to keep “hacking” updates instead of going through the official update / support interface.

If it was for one site, and I really needed the funationality, I’d go for it. But I manage 60 websites, and they hardly ever change their opening hours, so I’ll just switch to displaying them with text and not complicate things.

SOLVED.

Update the library URL Jquery in \classes\OpeningHours\OpeningHours.php to solve the problem with the editor in version 4.5.2

Change URL jQuery in line 114.
