Support » Plugin: Breadcrumb NavXT » Breadcrumbs project root page

  • Hello! How are you?

First of all, thank you for such an amazing plugin! It is really wonderful.

Although I would like to ask for some help if you don’t mind.

I have a problem with “project root page”.
I have created 2 separate pages:
    – cell phone repairs
    – computer repairs
Each of them has its own projects inside. The problem is that it seems I need to have 2 separate project root pages in order for breadcrumbs to show up correctly. If I put “cell phone repairs” as root page – “computer repairs” will have it as the main root project page.

Here is a screenshot of “cell phone repairs” page:

Here is a screenshot of “computer repairs” which is not displaying correctly:

Is there any way to have 2 separate root pages for 2 different projects?
Sorry if I didn’t explain good enough 🙁 My coding skills are terrible lol
Thank you for help in advance!!!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

WordPress doesn’t really support multiple roots for a single post type. The concept of a root is that there is only one. Instead, I would consider one of two alternative methods of achieving what you want. The simplest is to have two separate custom post types, one for “cell phone repairs” and one for “computer repairs”. This way the built in support for root pages in Breadcrumb NavXT will do what you need.

The other option is to use a custom taxonomy, and then map the taxonomy terms for ‘cell phone repairs’ and ‘computer repairs’ to pages with the same name. See this recent thread for an example on how to do this: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/breadcrumb-for-pages-instead-of-categories/
