Breadcrumb NavXT: Pages to archives not working

  • Hi guys,

I’m using Breadcrumb NavXT and I seriously like the plugin. But it has a strange behaviour. I have most of my website in static pages and then sometimes I link to the archives page where I have my blog.

The problem is that the Breadcrumb NavXT doesn’t follow the link and looks at each one of the category pages as part of the links from the root.

Please take a look at the example:

    Go to http://visa-electron.co.uk/blogs/

When you look at the breadcrumbs, it looks correct. Now if you click on any of the links like:

    http://visa-electron.co.uk/category/website-updates/

    it looses the trail…

What do I need to change so it starts looking good?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dinis

  • I would love to know how this issue was resolved because I just tried using the Breadcrumb NavXT and I’m now having Archives problems with my blog: http://www.lifecoach321.com.

    Thanks in advance.

    dquelhas,

The problem here is that your two categories are not children of the blog page, thus Breadcrumb NavXT won’t generate the breadcrumb trail that you are expecting. There is also the slight problem that Breadcrumb NavXT doesn’t know how to handle categories that are children of a page as WordPress does not officially support this.

Breadcrumb NavXT, does however, support static frontpages, with a page specified as the blog root. Using the “Blog Breadcrumb” setting will allow you to do what you desire.
