 * ‘Please activate the Breadcrumb-NavXT plug-in to use the section’
 * at the top…How do I get rid of it?

 * I guess is a theme feature. Look in the custom menus added by the theme (if there
   are any) in administration/appearance/ … .
 * If not there than it must be in header.php
