    Hi,

we face a problem with the breadcrumb block. We would like to be displayed only posts that belong directly to their main category, not those that belong to subcategories. For example:

    • post1 and post2 belongs to category1
    • post3 and post4 belongs to category2 (a subcategory of category1)
    • breadcrumb is Home>>category1

Clicking on the breadcrumb part “category1” all posts are been displayed (post1, post2, post3, post4). We would like only post1 and post2.

    regards, Manolis

The breadcrumb can be generated by various components. Either through the theme you are using or a plugin (e.g. YoastSEO). To be able to help you, we would therefore need to know what your project uses. A link to the page could be helpful.

    Good day,

the breadcrumb block came with Astra Pro Theme. I’ve contacted with their support team and they told me that “it is the default functionality of WordPress”.

I’m using a demo server, in order to test things first and then apply them to my productive server. So, you could navigate to http://195.251.99.141/wordpress/post-3/ and press “Main category” from the breadcrumb. Post 1 and 2 belongs directly to “Main Category”, but post 3 and 4 belongs to subcategories. Those posts shouldn’t be displayed.

    regards, Manolis

This is not a question of the breadcrumb but of the archive listing which displays the posts on the page. Here you should be able to restrict the list to posts that are only directly in the selected category and not from the categories below. This in turn must be set in the template of your commercial theme Astra Pro, for which you should ask their support again. Questions about commercial products are not allowed here in the forum.

    Thank you for your response.
