# Breadcrumb confusion

 * Hey peeps,
 * So I have my WP setup with a few plugins required by the theme itself.
 * Breadcrumb NavXT
    Permalink Settings: postname
 * Breadcrumb NavXT Settings:

 * They’re all pretty default.
 * Here’s my problem. There’s a beginning / before the root directory and sub pages/
   categories.
 * So they show up like this:
 * Blog Posts show this:
    / Blog / Blog / Test / Post
 * KB (KB plugin) show this:
    / Knowledgebase / Linux / SSH / Check Port Usage
 * Would appreciate help on getting rid of the first / and also the duplicate / 
   Blog in that area too.

 * What’s the underlying HTML structure of the breadcrumb? You might be able to 
   just use CSS and hide the first “node” element and “/” of the breadcrumb if the
   HTML structure makes it easy enough to target with CSS.

 * Sorry but where do I find the structure? I believe I provided the screenshot 
   links in my OP for Breadcrumb NavXT plugin settings.

 * Ok found the fix…
 * In the Breadcrumb NaXt > General tab
 * Place the home breadcrumb in the trail. (turned off).

 * Using your browser, use “view source” (or your browser’s developer tools, right
   click on the breadcrumb area and select “Inspect Element”) to see the underlying
   HTML structure.
 * Also, it looks like the plugin is available through the WordPRress.org plugin
   repo here – have you tried contacting the [plugin developer for support here](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/breadcrumb-navxt)?
