  • I am showing some really different views after the update. You don’t see the list of Navigation links anymore and if you change the name of Home, it doesn’t change. I’m wondering how to find the older version of BuddyPress before 2.6.

Can you kindly post your issues on buddypress forum’s?

You can download older versions from

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress/developers/

    Am on bp 2.5.3

Thanks for the link. I deleted BP 2.6 and replaced it with BP 2.5.3 and that fixed all the problems.

What 2.6 was doing was rearranging the Navigation links in BP.
    Pages
    Home
    Members
    Manage
    Documents
    Media
    Club Calendar
    Club Events
    Cover Photo

Before the update my Navigation links looked like this:
    Pages
    Activity
    Documents
    Members
    Media
    Club Calendar
    Club Events
    Manage
    Cover Photo

Also, after the update, all the Navigation Links at the bottom of the Extras area didn’t show anymore and even though it shows Activity where I renamed HOME page, it still said HOME where the Navigation area is.

Thats pretty much it. I will be staying with 2.5.3 until this is fixed.

I have posted this in BP Forums and we will see what happens

    tammy1999 thanks a lot

Was wondering if there is any news on a fix??

In staging I updated to BuddyPress 2.6.1.1 and this warning came up when you click on Extras.

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘position’ in /wp-content/plugins/buddypress-groups-extras/views/front/extras_general.php on line 50

I left the beginning off the string because its to my website.

I also noticed that the Navigation bar shows normally before the update:
    Pages
    Home
    Documents
    Members
    Media
    Club Calendar
    Club Events
    Manage
    Cover Photo

Except that HOME should say ACTIVITY since thats what I had changed it to be.

Also, where all the Navigation items are listed, they are still gone and thats where the error shows I posted above.

I wish I could show a screen shot of the Extras page, but not sure how to do it.

So for now, I will still be using BuddyPress 2.5.3

Works perfectly and looks good. Except still having trouble when you click on Save any page after adding/editing it links back to the backend of the website. Doesn’t stay on the frontend.

Thanks so much for the fix. We really use this plugin a lot on our website with over 70+ groups. We would be willing to pay for a Pro version in the future. Thanks again

Not sure I understand this redirect issue. Could you please create a step by step example? Like 1) open this page 2) do that 3) click this etc.

You are on any group page and click on Manage. Only the WP admin and group admin can do this process.
    Next click on Extras.
Next click on Edit Pages and choose a page to edit.
After you edit a page and click Save, you are directed back to the Main Site back end. (Multi site with 1 sub-site. All the groups are on the sub-site) I should be directed back to the same page after Saving.

    OR….

When you are on any group page and click on Pages in the Navigation Bar, choose a page to Edit.
Edit page and click Save. You are directed back to the Main Site dashboard. You don’t stay on the frontend page.

If it was just the WP Admin taking care of the Group pages, there wouldn’t be a problem. But with members taking care of their own Groups, I don’t want them in the Backend at anytime.
