I recently installed this plugin and the functionality is FANTASTIC, save one issue. When someone closes the box using the X, on the next page load it comes back. This happens if you hit refresh on an existing page or navigate to a new page. I have the cookie setting at 30 days. It MAY have a bearing on things that I am running W3 Total Cache and Varnish Caching on my server…and it may not. With another plugin I used before this one (scroll triggered box by dreamgrow), the cookie feature worked correctly. I switched because your layout is easier, and the popup works well across numerous screen sizes.

    Hi there,

Are you on version 1.0.5 of the plugin? I included a fix in the last version (1.0.5) which addressed browser caching. If you are and you emptied your cache (to get the latest JS file) and this is still happening, do you have an url for me to take a look at? That would be really helpful.

    Thanks!

I am using v 1.0.5 and have emptied all caches from W3TC and restarted the varnish caching (the best way to ensure that is reset). Same issue. URL is http://www.stacymakescents.com.

    Hi there,

I just updated the plugin and improved the way to determine whether the box should be shown again. I am pretty sure it’ll fix your issue, could you please double-check this? 🙂

    Thanks!

This DID fix our problem. THANK YOU! I’m glad my issue could help you make the plugin better for everyone, and THANK YOU for being so quick to respond with a solution.

Awesome, thanks for the update! Should you have a quick minute, a plugin review here on WP.org would make me really happy. 🙂

Looks like I’m having this problem to, but not constantly, and not on all sites where we are now using it. The site it’s currently misbehaving, is http://www.devenia.com

    Hi Bjorn,

Might it be that you’re logged in while testing? If you’re logged-in, the box will appear regardless of whether a cookie has been set or not (for testing purposes).

Ah. I see. Any chance you could let us turn it off when being logged in? When working on content, I have to constantly refresh the page to see where the content goes, and after a few page loads it get’s really annoying to have to close the box that keeps popping up.

    Hi Bjorn,

That’s a valid point, I think I will just add a test mode option in the box settings, that will make it pop-up regardless of whether a cookie has been set. What do you think?

    Yeah. That sounds perfect 🙂
