  • Hi,

Could you please possibly explain a bit about how the bot detection on registration forms works? I mean, what kind of techniques is it using to detect bots? And how does it stop them? How aggressive is it?

We have an invisible recaptcha setup as well – will this conflict?

Will it work if we’ve moved the registration page to a new URL (not wp-login)?

  • One more question: when an IP is blocked for trying to login with a non-existent username or for trying to access wp-login, how long is it blocked for?

    Thanks.

    Hi!

Roughly speaking the Cerber bot detection engine uses a combination of JavaScript, jQuery, and cookies to understand is it a real browser and is it a real form has been submitted by clicking a submit button. Also, to make a decision, the plugin track all suspicious requests from an IP by using the Activity log. It’s kind of behavior-based approach.

The bot detection engine is compatible with any captchas and it will work if you change the registration URL.

An IP will be blocked according to Limit login attempts settings.
