Borders in Nav Menu in twenty-twelve

    @sharonvillines

    How do I remove the borders on the nav menu in twenty-twelve. I can’t seem to change the color of the font, though I’ve changed the size. I can’t reduce the interior space or remove the borders.

    It’s a password protected site so I can’t post the URL.

    Thanks.

  • Hey there.

    Before making any changes to Twenty Twelve, you should first create a child theme or install a custom CSS plugin. This will ensure that your changes aren’t lost when the theme is updated in the future. 🙂

    How do I remove the borders on the nav menu in twenty-twelve.

    Try the following CSS snippet in your child theme’s style.css file, or you custom plugin’s editor:

    .main-navigation div.nav-menu > ul {
    border: 0;
    }

    I can’t seem to change the color of the font, though I’ve changed the size.

    Do you mean the colour of the font in the menu? If so, try the following snippet:

    .main-navigation li a {
    color: #COLOURVALUE;
    }

    Replace #COLOURVALUE with the colour code you wish the font in your menu to be.

    If you want to learn a little more about CSS, I highly recommend Codecademy. They offer free courses where you can ‘learn by doing’: http://www.codecademy.com/tracks/web.
