So what is your question exactly?

I just want to change the color of the border in the frame that comes with the skin. It comes in the Picture Frame by default and is gray color.

    Thank you

    You have a couple options:

    1. You could edit line 27 in the picture-frame.css file located in /wp-content/plugins/maxgalleria/addons/templates/image-tiles/skins.

    2. You could override that CSS style by using your own stylesheet and enabling the Custom Styles URL field under the Advanced tab.

I tried the above advanced suggestion and asked the plugin to pick off my style sheet from the theme I am using – and had no luck getting the portal hole thumbnails to change colour.

Simply using your theme stylesheet might not work because it probably gets loaded before the gallery stylesheet, which means the gallery styles will override it. Try uploading a separate stylesheet and using that one in the advanced options.
