    Hi there,

Just wondering if it was possible to not display the booking form within the events table but to open a new modal/page/tab once the book button has been clicked on?

The person who will be using this has no knowledge of websites so this needs to be user friendly and it isn’t possible for me to create a new shortcode and place on a page for each new event as it won’t be me adding the event lists.

I plan to not use the events page as the events on offer are cake classes so each topic page will only show a table of related events and a page of all the courses isn’t needed.

    ANy help would be great!

    Thanks

  • You woud have to create a custom script that react to the clicking on the button to open a popup. Then you need to put that in the single event markup in the EM settings. That is not a built-in option.

I do think you are mixing up two kind of pages: events list and single event. The events list never shows the booking form by default – only if you have put the #_BOOKINGFORM placeholder in Events > Settings > Events List.

As the name implies, “events list” is just a list of upcoming events. Visitors need to click on that to go to the single event page, which does have a booking form.

But personally, if someone who “has no knowledge of websites” is going to “maintain” WordPress, I would not do (much) custom coding. 😉

    Thanks Patrick,
I think I probably have been a bit muddled as I couldn’t quite piece my ideas together or get a custom script to work.

I’ll start from the beginning now with a clearer view!

    Cheers

Patrick, now that I’ve worked out how simple it is let me say thank you for being so kind!

Seems like quite the silly question now haha

Never mind! I too make my life harder than needed at times. Just thinking too deep and too difficult can make you blind for the simpler things (in life). LOL.
