    Hi there,

very nice plugin! I am still not 100% sure whether using your plugin or the Woothemes Vendor plugin is the better way to go. I’d have 2 quick questions, if you don’t mind:

    1) The Vendor extension from Woothemes does not allow the merchant to view the order detail page of a new order – which is silly…I do not understand what their plugin then is for in the first place. I assume a merchant can see his orders which have been paid for, can see the customer’s shipping address and can mark the order as “completed”?

    2) Do you know if this plugin integrates with the Wootheme’s “Booking” extension (http://www.woothemes.com/products/woocommerce-bookings/) and possibly also with the Wootheme “Subscription” extension (http://www.woothemes.com/products/woocommerce-subscriptions/)

We need to set up a way for merchants to sell table bookings and membership subscriptions – hence this question…

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the free support,
    Sebastian

  • Hi Sebastian,

The biggest difference in WC Vendors vs WooThemes Product Vendors is simple — Ours actually works! 🙂 Browse the Help Forums on wcvendors.com and you’ll see a LOT of people who have paid money for Woo’s version who no longer use it and switched to WC Vendors.

1.) That is silly! And of course, ours allows the vendor to view the order, as long as you have enabled that option in the WC Vendors configuration panel. Vendors can also mark the order as Shipped or Not Shipped as well, but the vendors can not change the order status (that’s dangerous!)

2.) No multivendor platform integrates with Woo’s Booking extension. The reason is not a fault of WC Vendors, but a fault of the Booking programmers who dont allow multiple users to have their own calendar and for you to specify who can have one. I’m not aware of any booking extensions that will work on a multivendor platform. As far as I know, none do. Subscription extension works just fine, as well as 95% of the other extensions out there though!

    Cheers

    Ben

    Hello Ben,

question no. 2 for me is also very interesting. I am also interested in your plugin because it really seems a lot better than the woothemes one.

So, to be honest: I do not understand, what you mean here:

2.) No multivendor platform integrates with Woo’s Booking extension. The reason is not a fault of WC Vendors, but a fault of the Booking programmers who dont allow multiple users to have their own calendar and for you to specify who can have one.

Every product vendor (the Woothemes one) can create a bookable product and have his own calendar. So what do you exactly mean by your above note.

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi Ben,

sorry for not thanking/getting back on this (for some reason I did not get an email notification). Yes – Hans is right, have a look here: https://support.woothemes.com/hc/en-us/articles/202894359-Bookings-Use-Case-Multi-Vendor-Shop-Example-with-Product-Vendors

So the wooc vendor extension does seem to wotk with wooc booking extension – any chance you will be able to integrate that into WC Vendors?

    Thanks a lot,
    Sebastian

It’s still pretty low on our priority list, we’ve had a dozen people ask us for this type of support, out of 5000 active sites that use WC Vendors. Once WC Vendors Pro is finished being written we’ll have time for things like this to look at and sort through.

The article looked pretty straight forward. Have either of you tried to use Bookings in the same manner as the tutorial? It might work already, I just don’t know………

    Hi Ben, Sebastian,

    yes, it works like expected!

But this does not make the woothemes vendors plugin better!

Ben, I guess it is useless to ask you about a timeline for your pro version… the answer will be “When we are ready” – am I right?

But even if the pro version would be up and running, then there wouldn’t be support for the bookings plugin, anyway, right?

Would you guys do it as a payed custom solution?

Sebastian, would you join me to make a deal with Ben and pay him for a custom solution?

    Thanks and bye
    Hans

When we are ready. 🙂 🙂

As far as I know we would not have Bookings compatibility in the FIRST version of Pro. Once it’s for sale, adding it in after, would be a much more likely scenario.
