• I use Bluehost and I used their simple install of wordpress.org for my website. I want to start using the download files for wordpress so I can edit themes and files more. I was wondering if there was a way to use the downloaded files and then use those to update my existing site. I asked Bluehost for help and they said they can only help with install so I’m looking for help here.

  • I also use Bluehost, and I usually install WordPress sites with their SimpleScripts solution, and I have no problems with customizations. You’ll likely have to learn how to work with FTP, though, if you’re wanting to upload downloaded files to your site.

I have a great (and affordable) beginner’s course for web design with WordPress available here – my tutorials feature Bluehost since it’s my preferred host, and I also teach how to work with FTP (and why it’s important) in this course. You may want to sign up – I’m sure it’ll help you!
