Support » Themes and Templates » Blue question mark in header when I try to change, why?!

  • Hi.

I am trying to make my very first website. I am using the photogrid-theme, and the first thing I wanted to do, was to change the header.
I opened the current header image in Gimp, and did some minor changes with it. I saved it, and converted it to a .png-file. I then uploaded the image via Filezilla to photogridtheme/images in the right column.
I then went into the editor, chose the “header part” in the right menu, and found the:

    <div align="center"><a>"><img src="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); ?>/images/logo.jpg" class="logo" alt="logo" /></a></div>

[Please post code & markup between backticks or use the code button. Your posted code has now been permanently damaged by the forum’s parser.]

The new logo is called logo2.png, so I switched /logo.jpg with /logo2.png.
According to all the videos I´ve seen, that should be it? However, the header is now reduced to a question mark. Tried numerous of images, antler.jpg, logo3.png, all of them uploaded to the images-file in Filezilla, but I can’t work it out.

I have seen in some other videos that I could perhaps edit the Stylesheet, found at the bottom of the right menu in the editor, but I can’t seem to find any image files there at all.

    My site is

Any help would be great, I have worked on this for days now, watched six tutorials in youtube and all, but I just don´t understand why it is not working.

  • Where did that theme come from?

    I downloaded it from here:

I still can’t fix the problem. I have tried to replace the logo with other images that was in the images folder, fees Facebook-icons and so on, and they all work. But when I try to change it to a picture I have uploaded to the folder myself, it doesen´t work… I have read a million of times that it has to be in the right folder and so on, but it is! Everything is visible in the images folder, both in filezilla and finder…

These forums only support themes from the repository on this site, so I don’t know that we can help with the theme itself. But have you tried keeping the name the same on that image – just modifying it however you want?

Also, you might try uploading using the Media uploader rather than FTP.

Oh, I see. No, I haven¨t but i will try! Thank you for your tip!

Well, I tried to call my new header image the same name as the original, and then i called the original something else. The original logo was called logo.jpg. I renamed the image logo3.jpg, and my own image logo.jpg. Guess what happened when i paste logo.jpg – the old logo, logo3 – appears! I really don’t understand anything.

Is it not possible to edit headers and stuff in the free themes found online perhaps? Does it HAVE to be “photo grid” – the original theme logo? Is it because it is free?
Also, is it a forum here I could ask? I am two seconds from giving this up, and pay someone to do it for me, but I looked forward to make it myself…

To make a page with your own logo and header and stuff, will i have to but premium versions maybe? Or use on of those downloaded with wordpress?
