  • This is my first time using Migrate Guru plugin and what a smooth experience it was.

    I was migrating the site from to cPanel (let’s not judge ;))
    It was behind Cloudflare

    And all I had to do was supply the cPanel creds. No hiccups whatsoever.

    There was one tiny problem that I would like the team to handle while migrating from

    In wp-config, there’s a file entry

    define(‘DISALLOW_FILE_MODS’, true);

    This restricts the admin user from adding or deleting any themes, plugins, etc.

    Also, I saw the tables were recreated with wp_ prefix while I had installed with with a custom prefix. Would it be possible to keep the prefix of tables same as destination?

    Thanks Husain 🙂

    We intentionally do not strip out tags such as DISALLOW_FILE_MODS. These might have been added by the customer specifically for security reasons, and we do not want to override such a setting.

    wp_prefix is a tricky one. As far as possible it is advisable to not make such changes while migrating a site. dbprefix is used internally in the database and can have unintended consequences if changed. There are a few suggestions around this, but none are foolproof. Hence best avoided.
