[blogum] Sidebar Widget Issues
-
I’m having a very difficult time adding new widgets to the sidebar of the Blogum theme.
As you can see here: http://www.arakhneweb.net/ – the twitter follow widget is aligned left, although I have altered the CSS to align all widgets to the right. Not only that, it’s pressed right up against the body of the main posts. And the facebook like box widget is showing up at the bottom of the post.
This is happening with pretty much every new widget I try to add to the site – it’s aligned wrong, it pops up at the bottom of the page, or it doesn’t show up at all. 🙁 Help…!

I viewed source of your site there should be only 2 closing div line 375. But there is 3, causing sidebar` to close and hence not following style of sidebar.
Problematic widget is your social media widget.
what @aditya Pandey mentioned is also reflected in the large number of validation errors: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.arakhneweb.net%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

there is no shortcut – start at the top of the error list and fix as many errors as you can; this might solve your widget problems.
the errors might be from the templates of your theme, from plugins, or from the content of your posts.
Wow…I in no way have the resources or capacity to fix all of those errors. I barely understand most of them and will probably make the issue worse if I play with them.
Is it possible to reinstall the theme and start over from scratch?
It is possible to reinstall the theme and start over from scratch using Child Theme.
That theme looks pretty outdated to me, I highly recommend you to switch over to any new theme.
Thank you both for your help! I’m going to switch to a new theme. 🙂 Wish me luck on the search – if you know of any simple, clean, current themes, send ’em my way.
