Support » Fixing WordPress » blogroll update option for 2.0

  • Is there a way or a plugin that will indicate on my blogroll which of my links have been recently updated. Thanks for any advise. I am using WordPress 2.0

  • So.. does this mean there is no way to display undated blogroll links with WordPress?

not really, no. How would you imagine that to work (technically)?

I suppose you’d want to integrate a RSS feed reader into your theme somehow, but I’ve not really seen anything like that.

Admin panel > Links > Link Categories:
    Show: updated checkbox.
    Don’t you have it?

Moshu (or anyone else), does the update links actually work for anyone? The PingOMatic API ( never seems to be reachable!

This is the error I get everytime:
Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to in /home/michael/public_html/wp/wp-admin/update-links.php on line 26

Pinging it from my home PC, server and 3rd party tools all fail.

    Now that’s a good question 🙂
I have never used it, just remembered it is there. Sorry, if the information is not accurate.

Wow, I never even noticed that option before. Interesting. I stand (ok, sit) corrected.

I have been getting that error for the last month or so (about since ping-o-matic was revamped). Have also seen a few other people with the same problem.

There is probably a way to point it at some other ping-server instead, but have not had any luck find a solution as yet.

I have not found any alternative as of yet either. I’ve made contact attempts to pingomatic with no reply. I know there are some plugins that hav worked on past versions that do the same as the update links is upposed to, but none of them work on the current version.

There have been a few threads started on this before, with no resolution to any of them, would there be any point in starting a new one?
