On Monday, I published a new post to my blog. After publication, I noticed that after changing the title prior to publication, I had forgotten to change the URL. I went into the admin and changed the URL and updated the post.

Since then, Google Analytics does not recognize that the post exists at all. Not sure whether it’s confused about the two very similar URLs, since only the last bit of the slug changed or whether they don’t like that it seems like duplicate content. I would love to try to fix this, but I don’t know how.

More importantly, something else must have gone wrong 2 days later. Although I can access the post via Safari, I can’t access it via Firefox. I was told by someone else that she couldn’t load the post at all. Today, I have had no comments on that post at all which seemed odd since it’s a giveaway post and it had been fairly active during the past 3 days.

I would be truly grateful for any help. Thanks!

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the unedited default, core-bundled Theme (such as Twenty Twelve, Twenty Thirteen or Twenty Fourteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue.

    – deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).

Thanks for your reply. I am on the phone with the host now seeing if they can help troubleshoot.

I’m thinking it may not be the theme or the plug-ins because every other post works with no problem. It’s just the one with the URL change that doesn’t seem to exist for Google Analytics and that now won’t load at all (except most likely from my cache on Safari).

    🙁

My website host was able to help me fix the problem. Thank you, Tara, for responding and trying to help. Basically, the URL needed to be renamed because it had gotten corrupted. That was it! My problem is resolved.

    Glad to hear that 🙂
