Blogger Import – Finds 0 Posts/Comments

    I wanted to import posts and comments form a blog I’ve been running with blogger (it’s on its one URL) but when I use WP Importer, I go to Authorize and then Grant Access on google page, it takes me back to WP admin interface where it lists Posts 0/0 and Comments 0/0

    Looks like WordPress is not able to locate posts and comments that normally work and are present in Blogger.

    I have searched forums here for answer to this issue, but there’s nothing to help. All Blogger Importer related issues deal with “Unable To Log In” but as it appears with my case, WP is able to log in, it just doesn’t find anything there.

    Can someone help?

    Are you using Blogger in an “FTP publishing” mode? This is the mode where it generates HTML files and FTP’s them to your own site instead of hosting it locally on Blogger.

    If so, try switching the blog to a blogspot.com hosted blog for a short time. Then try the importer. I believe that Blogger does not make FTP published material available in quite the same way as the locally hosted material.

    Hello Otto42,

    yes, I’ve been using FTP Publishing mode, because the blog was on its own domain and I was hosting all the files (independent from Blogger.com entirely, aside from the back end used to make new posts and moderate comments, etc.)

    Let me give this a try
