Blog2Social is user-based and can be configured for each user individually.
Sharing posts and enabling auto-poster settings is also user-based to enable each user to share their posts individually or automatically, by using shared or their own social media channels, define their own auto-post settings, as well es individual time settings to share their posts.
As the admin of the site, you can auto-post your own posts as well as edit and share all posts that are published on your website on your social networks. If you wish to enable the option for your users’ posts automatically, you can add a license for each user account. You can also easily assign the auto-poster settings and selected social media channels to your user accounts.
The license model is based on the number of user accounts. We will be happy to check this option for your website.

This is essentially what we want to have happen. I should clarify that the autoshare isn’t sending ANY posts of this custom post type to Facebook, including my own – that’s where the issue is.
I understand that if users’d want it to post to Facebook “as them”, they’d need their own license, but that’s not what we need, no worries.

In your original request, you mentioned that if you “edit the car in your admin backend it just works fine”. So, we thought you were referring to the same custom post type?
In general, Blog2Social the auto-poster can be enabled for posts, pages, and for custom post types. You can define your preferred post type in the auto-poster settings (just activate the check-box for post, page and/or custom post type).
The auto-poster settings can be activated for “new posts” as well as for “updated post”. If you set the auto-poster for new posts the posts will be shared once it is published on your website. If you edit the post and update it, it will be re-shared if you set the auto poster to new posts and updated posts as well.

How to define and set up the auto poster
The auto-poster settings are user-based and automatically share all posts that are assigned to the user who originally created and published the post, independently of the post type or the assignment of the social media accounts.
All Blog2Social settings are directly related to the WordPress user roles. This means, with your admin settings, you can edit a post that was originally published by another user. You can also individually customize, schedule, and share this post on social media.
However, to automatically trigger the auto-poster when your users create and publish a new post or update an existing post, this would require a multi-user license for the auto-poster.

Yeah sorry, I should clarify; it will send *edits* of the car, but it won’t send *publishes*, that’s what has me confused.
I’ve set Blog2Social up and tested it with normal posts; everything worked just fine there.

Not quite!
Two issues persist with the plugin:
– When a post of the custom post type “Listings” (from the theme Motors) is published, it cannot be automatically shared regardless of the plugin settings. Here’s how the auto-poster looks right now https://i.imgur.com/Wxc0fFm.png, and here’s the network setting https://i.imgur.com/7aEXNZi.png
– More of a question than an issue, but is it possible to set Blog2Social up in a way that shares “Sales” posts to Facebook? The group we want to share our submissions to has almost all of their regular content as “sales” posts, a Facebook post type that includes a price and title field.

May I ask you if the auto-poster settings you showed us in your screenshot are assigned to that user that is publishing the posts you want to share with this custom post type?
Blog2Social works user-based which means that all settings can be defined for each WordPress user individually. It is important that the autopost settings are enabled in the user account which shall autopost this custom post type.
In addition, the screenshot shows us that you selected “My Profile” as your network collection in your auto-poster settings.
Is your specific Facebook group assigned to this network selection?
You can see the assignment of accounts in your network setting. To help you check this for you it would be helpful if you could provide us with a screenshot that shows your full network list including your selected network collection.

Regarding your question if it’s possible to share “Sales Posts” to Facebook:

They are assigned to that user indeed, hence the confusion. When we noticed it wasn’t making a Facebook post when a “listing” was submitted, I tried to test it out for when a “listing” was edited – and that seemed to come through and share the post fine, that’s what confuses me a bit.
Thing to note is that users submit and edit their “listings” through the front-end, while we have a back-end managing tool, not sure if that would have any impact.

Edit: after a bit more testing, we’ve noticed that post updates submitted through the site front-end won’t trigger the Auto-Post either; only “listing” submissions and edits in the back-end. It did not matter whether the person making the posts were our current admin account or a regular user.

The auto poster is triggered by the regular WordPress submit button in the backend. This signal might be different when a post is submitted with a specialized input form in the front-end.

would you be so kind as to check one more thing in the auto-poster settings:
There are two different sets of settings in the auto-poster, one for your original site content and one for “imported posts / RSS feeds”.
If you enable the auto-poster settings for “imported posts” and select your custom post type, the posts submitted via your WP theme should be posted on publishing.
Please make sure to enable this setting for every user that is supported to use this option on your website.

Hey! Sure thing, I’ve given it a look. Unfortunately, the auto-poster for imported posts doesn’t seem to recognise “groups” as a valid place to post imported posts. I’ve included my settings for reference, after adding a profile account to see if the issue was seeing the groups.

Hey, yes, you are right. The FB groups are generally excluded from this option due to the FB community rules for groups to ensure spam protection.
Is this your own group? Are you the admin of this group? We have to check if this option can be enabled in this case for this group.
